I know the term ‘mocha’ is a Yemeni word and originally refereed to a variety of coffee grown in Yemen, but where was the drink conceived? I had always assume that it, like so many other Espresso drinks, had its origins in Italy, but someone at my local coffee shop (a patron, not employee) insisted it was an American invention and that most Italian cafes didn’t even serve mochas.
It’s like chilli con Carne/ Chop Suey they are all marketing ploys to get us to buy cheap ly produced products at inflated prices.Someone like Starbucks or similar would be the culprit.
Mocha is also used to describe a coffee bean with a "chocolaty" taste. Smaller and rounder than most other varieties, these beans are derived from the coffee species Coffea arabica, which is native to Ethiopia and Yemen. "Mocha coffee" can refer either to the coffee-with-chocolate drink, or simply to coffee brewed with mocha beans, which were originally cultivated in Yemen and exported through the port of Mocha.
My cafe is going to serve coffee, deserts, lunch and breakfast
I need a name like papillon something pretty and that sounds nice. I’m brain dead on thinking of good names :/ Help please
Cafe au lait
Means coffee with milk.
I remember visiting it about ten years ago. I really loved it. It’d be nice to know it’s still around.
I don’t think it does, or at least not where it used to be. In the fall of 2001pPartners Marco Casas Beaux (Gitano) and Marianne Zdobysz (Madison Park Cafe), took over the former Poor Italian Cafe and turned it into an Argentine-style grill or parrilla. B.A. Grill’s focus is red meat — especially beef, often marinated — seared over a wood fire, finished over charcoal and served on an enameled, cast-iron grill "to keep it warm."
My IG is aming at my sweets at cafe in the park.
