Just wondering if attending food fairs would help my business grow. And also why is it important that i do attend these fairs. How can this make my business more succesful? And also what are some other ways i can promote my small cafe/restaurant business. I sell smoked meat to a few restaurants and cafes around melbourne. Thanks guys

Food fairs are basically a marketing/advertising type of thing. You let people either sample your food for free or charge them a small amount. If your food is good, that will start a word-of-mouth advertising chain, and you would probably see your sales revenue increase.

I’m stationed in South Korea and while I’m here I want to see one of the infamous "Starcraft Cafes" I’ve heard so much about. Are there any near Osan AB or will I need to travel a bit to find one?

why? would it affect your choice in going to a cafe if they didn’t? do you think that cafes do cater for these people?

I think most people with special dietary needs will be able to find something on just about any menu to eat. I know their are exceptions – but usually small modifications, like leaving off a sauce, etc – is all that is needed to accommodate a guest.

Plus – the staff should know what is in the food. So if someone asks if there is shrimp in the bisque – someone in the kitchen should know if shrimp shells were used in the making of the bisque or not. It’s not really "catering to special needs" as it is just good business practice.

I know someone who runs a restaurant and his attitude is "people with special diets should not eat out." I try to convince him that attitude – if it became known – would really cost him some business. But chefs are know to be temperamental anyway.

We all heard about the angry fights KOrean players have after they lose. How many people do you think will get injured at Internet Cafes that have Starcraft 2.

Oh starcraft 2 is rts. I think fps’ will have a more terrifying effect. OH and MMORPG. not really rts….

Also, even the professionals in starcraft don’t get angry. They get upset. In MMORPG and FPS, we see people screaming and yelling and crying. I mean that’s just the professionals but still…

Through 2009 Zynga made money from lead generation advertising schemes, whereby game participants would earn game points by signing up for featured credit cards or video-rental services. These were criticized as being less cost-effective than simply buying game points, and in some cases, being outright scams that would download unwanted software or unwittingly sign up for a recurring subscription.[14] On October 31, 2009, Michael Arrington of TechCrunch said that Zynga intentionally worked with scam advertisers, and that lead generation made up a third of Zynga’s revenue.[21] Arrington also alleged that Facebook was complicit in this.[22] On November 2, 2009, CEO Mark Pincus announced a reform in its offers: Tatto Media, a major offer provider that enrolled users into recurring cell phone subscriptions, would be banned, all mobile offers would be removed, and offer providers would be required to pre-screen offers.[23]

Arrington continued to question Pincus’ role in the scams, republishing a video of a speech by Pincus.[24] In the speech, Pincus said:

So I funded [Zynga] myself but I did every horrible thing in the book to, just to get revenues right away. I mean we gave our users poker chips if they downloaded this Zwinky toolbar which was like, I don’t know, I downloaded it once and couldn’t get rid of it. *laughs* We did anything possible just to just get revenues so that we could grow and be a real business.

In response, Pincus noted that after offering the Zwinky toolbar, his team of ten decided to remove it since it was a “painful experience.”[25]

Several days after the Techcrunch story, Zynga’s most recent Facebook game FishVille, was temporarily taken offline by Facebook on claim of advertising violations. According to Zynga, Fishville had 875,000 users within two days of launch. A release from Facebook on its reasons for taking the game offline read that “FishVille will remain suspended until Facebook is satisfied that Zynga demonstrates compliance with Facebook restrictions — as well as Zynga’s own restrictions — on the ads it offers users.”[26] FishVille was later un-suspended at midnight November 9/10.[27]

Several suits were filed against Zynga for promoting such offers,[28][29] including a class-action lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California for violation of the Unfair competition law and the Consumers Legal Remedies Act, after the lead plaintiff’s credit card was billed more than $200 for offers she completed to receive YoVille currency.[30][31][32]

Pincus later said that he had been too eager to increase company revenues through advertising, and that operating in reactive mode by taking down ads only after receiving complaints had not worked. The company removed all ads for a time, relying only on direct purchase of game currency, then began reintroducing third party ads only after they had been screened.[14]

me and my friend are wanting to go overnight but the flight doesnt arrive until 4pm. what time do the cafes close?

It does depend (to a degree) on the coffeeshop itself as to the closing hours. Some close earlier than others, but by law then all coffeeshops (what you call weed cafes selling weed) have to close by 1am latest.

I have a new small arts related business in LA and have ordered some postcards about my service. How can you place these cards in local cafes, bars, cinemas etc? Is it a matter of approaching every manager personally or are there affordable services you can use to place the cards for you?

do a search for street teams. Every major city has them. For a fee, they can distribute them for you. In addition, you can also call these places ahead of time to see if you can drop some off.
