  • Should the US raise the CAFE standard to conserve fuel and reduce air pollution?

Posted by admin on December 26th, 2011 and filed under american cafe | 2 Comments »

Even if this increase could result in American jobs being lost and could have a negative impact on our countries economy. The CAFE stands for Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency

    Absolutely not.
It is a political power issue.

Is there such a career as interior designing for cafes, restaurants, and bistros?

Posted by admin on December 19th, 2011 and filed under cafe restaurants | 2 Comments »

Not actually building the cafe, restaurant, or bistro, but just decorating them? Does this require a degree of some kind? I tried looking it up, but without any luck. Thanks for your help!! :)

I was in interior design for a year and tbh, in this economy its horrid!!! There is no degree in just interior decorating that I know of but there is one in interior design. I actually left the art institute of seattle because I hated it and all of the projects wasn’t like I thought it would be. You have to hand draft most of the floor plans and it take up to 6 hours a night working on one simple floor plan. I thought it was just easy stuff like decorating rooms and matching colors, wow, I was wrong!

The people that I did meet that got a interior design degree at the school turned out working for furniture stores and not actually working as interior designers. It must be hard finding jobs a a interior designer these days if most of the recent graduates are working in furniture stores.

Is it rude to take photos at a restaurant/cafe in America?

Posted by admin on December 9th, 2011 and filed under american cafe | 8 Comments »

Hi. the title says it all.
Is it rude to take photos of the foods/drinks i ordered at a restaurant/cafe/fast food in the U.S?
I wanna take photos of american foods and drinks for my blog but i don’t wanna get in any trouble.

Do American bloggers also take photos at a restaurant?
or is it simply rude and offensive to other guests dining there?
    (I’m NOT gonna use flash)

need ur advices. thanks in advance!

You may certainly take photos in restaurants. Its not that it could be rude, it is just that it may be annoying but not all the time. The thing that makes taking photos in restaurants annoying is, besides the flash example, that it gets in people’s ways. For example, pictures where people have to wait in there place because if they go ahead they’ll ruin the photo. Just make sure that it does not involve others and you’ll be fine. I love taking pictures of the restaurants especially at expensive ones. Many people do it all the time when it’s a celebration so you are not the only one. Yeah bloggers do take photos in restaurants. I guess it’s ok to be a little annoying because it is very frequent but just don’t go overboard.

I am aiming to open a cafe/bar in the next few years.. SEE BELOW FOR MORE?

as I am in the early stages of planning, what are some quirky extras that I should add that other joints lack? Everyones opinion is welcome! :)

The bar, cafe, pub or (public house) has always been the village’s living room. It was literally where you go after working in your blacksmith’s shop where they had heating, lights and all your friends were there. If you want that atmosphere that is what you want to play to, a chill spot for the whole city. Couches, a fireplace…
